Baptist Regional Medical Center opened in Corbin, Kentucky in 1986 as a replacement facility for the former Southeastern Kentucky Baptist Hospital. Our mission is to provide quality health services to our customers using Christian values as our guide.

Jellico Community Hospital is located near Interstate 75 just south of the Kentucky state border in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee. Jellico Community Hospital, which has been operated by Adventist Health System since 1974, provides full-service healthcare to residents of Jellico, Tennessee, Williamsburg, Kentucky and the surrounding region. 

Whitley County EMS was created February 2, 2001 to provide continued Ambulance service protection for Whitley County. Under the direction of the Fiscal Court, the service operates 5 ambulances and employees approximately 35 persons.

On June 17, 1882 Dan T. Chestnut founded The Corbin Enterprise. This weekly newspaper became the forerunner of the Corbin Daily Tribune and Sunday Times and what is now known as the Times-Tribune.

Whitley County Schools are located in Eastern Kentucky. Whitley County was formed in 1818. At the beginning of the 1963-64 school year, the four high schools were combined to form one centrally located high school. Later construction of a second school on this campus combined the seventh and eighth grades. As the school system continued to grow, a third school, Whitley County Central Elementary, was constructed at this central location. Unlike the other two schools on the central campus, Whitley Central Elementary serves grades K-6 for the immediate area rather than the entire county.

Cumberland College has historically served students primarily, but not exclusively, from the beautiful mountain regions of Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio and Alabama, which have traditionally been described as Appalachia. The College's impact can be seen in the achievements of its graduates who have assumed roles of leadership in this region and throughout the nation. While located in the resort like area of Appalachia, with emphasis primarily on serving the beautiful mountain area, the college now reaches into every state and around the world through its student body and alumni.
