Whitely County
Named after a famous Indian fighter, William Whitely, Whitley County is the home of Cumberland Falls and the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. Cumberland Falls is located in the Daniel Boone National Forest and is known as the "
Niagara of the South". Having one of the only two moonbows in the world, Cumberland Falls offers many recreational activities such as camping, hiking, horseback riding, rafting and throughout the years has hosted many special events. The Laurel Lake and headwaters of Lake Cumberland are located in the northern end of the county and the Whitley County Fair is held annually in July.![]()
Corbin, named for the Reverend James Corbin Floyd and founded in the 1890's, attributes much of the early growth to the economic activity generated by the establishment of the L & N Railroad Station in downtown Corbin. Now the CSX Railway System, the railroad remains among the leading employers in a thriving and diversified economy. Corbin is the home of Colonel Harland Sanders, founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant chain, located at the crossroads of Highway 25E and I-75. Corbin offers many things to see and do. It offers the closest route from the north to Cumberland Falls State Park and Laurel Lake. Laurel Lake is one of the most beautiful and cleanest lakes in the state, offering excellent fishing, house boating, camping and boating. One of the biggest events each year is the

City of Williamsburg
Known as the "
Gateway to the Cumberland's", Williamsburg is the home of Cumberland College, one of Kentucky's largest private colleges. It is a city rich in history and beauty, with large southern homes surrounding the beautiful Cumberland College Campus. Williamsburg is also the Seat for Whitley County. Williamsburg is the shortest route to the Big South Fork National Recreation Area and the southern exit to Cumberland Falls State Park off I-75. The town is known for its "Old Fashion Trading Days", held annually the first Thursday, Friday and Saturday in September.
