Dear Parents,
I welcome you and your child into the fourth grade. I'm very excited about this school year. I do need your help with a few things in order for our class to run more smoothly.
1. Please do not let your child bring toys, trading cards, games, candy or extra money to school. These items can cause problems which take away valuable class time.
2. Your child may have a small amount of homework each night. I expect assignments to be returned the next day. After the first grading period, ten points will be taken off each day that a paper is late. If class time is wisely spent your child will have little homework!
3. I will be sending graded papers home to you on Mondays. There will be an assignment and behavior checklist. You will need to sign this paper and have you child return it in the provided folder on Tuesdays. Occasionally the kids check their own papers and put a grade on them. Only the papers graded by me are used as recorded grades. Graded papers will be sent home every two weeks.
4. I like to reward the children for good behavior, good grades, turning in work in on time and so on. The treats really do get to be expensive! If you would donate one bag of candy, stickers, pencils, or any other small item, it would help out so much.
5. I love teaching! I will give your child my very best efforts and attention. In return I expect your child to give me his or her best efforts in class work, behavior and attendance.

loose leaf wide rule notebook paper
pencil pouch to fit into a 3-ring binder
pencils and erasers (no mechanical pencils please)
