Dear Parents,
I am your child's fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Smith. I am excited about this coming school year. I am, also, very happy to have your child in my classroom. With your help, our classroom should run smoothly and be a positive learning environment for you child.
Please note the list of school supplies that you will need to provide for your child.
I don't want any of my students bringing trapper keepers to my class as their desk is only large enough for their textbooks. If they bring a trapper keeper they will have to take them back home. So please save your money and don't get one.
Rarely do I assign homework. If your child brings work home it will be because they do not use their time wisely in doing their assignments in class, or are doing make-up work after being absent.
Your child's school work is important and graded papers will be sent home approximately every two weeks. Please look at your child's work each time. It will be your child's responsibility to bring their papers home. Doing it this way you will be aware of what kind of progress your child is making from time to time. You will need to sign, date, and return the 'Bi-Weekly Form' by the next school day.
Our school and myself expects the very best effort you and your child has to offer in attendance, effort, group participation, and cooperation with the other students.
As you probably already know your child will be receiving letter and numerical grades this coming school year. They will receive report cards after every nine weeks.
